Alfred State Falls to Erie

The Alfred State College football team never could get their offense going and fell 24-6 to Erie CC in a Northeast Football Conference contest played in very windy conditions in Orchard Park. ECC clinches a spot in the Region III Championship game and improves to 5-2 (3-2 NFC) on the year while ASC falls to 3-5 (0-3 NFC).

Ammar Dyson connected with Aaron Valentin on a 12-yard pass play with 7:28 remaining in the 1st quarter to give the Kats a 7-0 lead.

Braun named NJCAA Setter of the Week

The 5-10 setter averaged 10.7 assists (192 assists), 2.8 digs (50 digs), 1.5 kills (26 kills) and 0.6 service aces (11 aces) over 18 games last week.

Lady Pioneers fall to Genesee

The Alfred State College volleyball team saw their 17-match winning streak snapped in their WNYAC regular season finale.  Genesee CC improved to 29-12 (6-0 WNYAC) and secured the #1 seed with a 30-13, 30-24, 20-30, 30-19.

ASC, ranked #5 in Division III of the NJCAA, falls to 25-3 (5-1 WNYAC).  The loss also snapped a 16 match regular season home winning streak.

Pioneers earn #8 Seed

The Alfred State College men's soccer team has earned the #8 seed in the Region III Division III Tournament and will match up with #9 Finger Lakes CC on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in a 1st round contest.

The Pioneers went 7-6-2 overall in the regular season and 7-4-2 in Region III Division III play while the Lakers finished their campaign with a 11-7 record.

Cross Counry teams remain #7

Both the men's and women's cross country teams remain ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Pioneers have held the #7 spot in the last three week's of the poll.

The men's team is coming off a 10th place finish at the University of Rochester Invitational while the women finished 12th.  Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) was the top male finisher.  He finished 55th in 28:02 while Rhea Cosay (White River, AZ) finished 67th (21:00) to earn top honors on the women's side.

The Alfred State College volleyball team has moved up another spot in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Lady Pioneers, 25-2 overall and winners of their last 17 matches, are now #5.

The Blue and Gold were a perfect 7-0 this past week with WNYAC victories over Jamestown CC (3-1) and Mercyhurst North East (3-0) before winning the ASC Tournament on Saturday with victories over Broome CC (2-0), Tompkins Cortland CC (2-0), Jefferson CC (2-0), Corning CC (2-0), and Jamestown CC (2-1) in the championship game.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team has earned the #11 seed in the Region III Division III Tournament after a 7-7-1 regular season.  The Lady Pioneers will travel to #6 SUNY Delhi (10-4-1) on Saturday for a first round contest at 1 p.m.

Septh named NJCAA & Region III Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College sophomore wide receiver Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) has been named the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week and the Region III Male Athlete of the Week.  Septh helped the Pioneers to a 27-6 victory over Berean Institute on Saturday.

Lady Pioneers win ASC Tournament

The Alfred State College volleyball team went 5-0 and defended their title at the ASC Invitational on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in NJCAA Division III, have now won three tournaments this fall and have won 17 straight matches.

Alfred State forced seven turnovers and the offense accumulated 437 yard in a 27-6 victory over Berean Institue at Maple City Park on Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers improve to 3-4 on the year and snap a three game losing streak.
