Hello Alfred Alums…
It has been another eventful year for your school…I hope you’ve been following the activities on the alumni page.
This is an energetic time for construction on both the Alfred and Wellsville campus sites. Physical updates are in progress as well as new buildings. This fall, the incoming freshmen will enjoy a complete update of the Central Dining Hall, which will complement the recently completed Student Gathering Place containing seating and dining options. Work continues on the Construction Workforce Development Center at the School of Applied Technology on the Wellsville campus.
Curriculum updates, changes, and additions are moving at the speed of light…ASC is no longer the two-year college of yesteryear!
Your Alumni Association welcomes Colleen Argentieri as the new director of alumni relations. Colleen is a familiar face on the Alfred State College campus and she brings a wealth of knowledge with her. Stop in and say hello next time you are in town.
We continue to reach out to our alums through chapter events in the Buffalo, Rochester, Southern Tier, and Syracuse areas. If you haven’t been in touch for a while, we invite you to join us at one of these events and reconnect!
To celebrate the newly completed athletic complex on campus, Alfred State College hosted a hugely successful Homecoming/Family Weekend last fall. The Alumni Association will be a big part of this year’s celebration, in place of our annual Bake at the Lake. Your Homecoming/Family Weekend invitation will arrive in mid-July, but please continue to watch the event’s Web page for a complete schedule of activities as well as any updates. We invite you to join us at the Alumni Association luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 26 when the newest recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award will be announced.
The ASC Alumni Association is here for you…please keep in touch and send us your comments and ideas.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!
