Heavy Equipment Operations - Student Equipment List
The following is a list of the required tools for all freshmen entering the heavy equipment operations program*. We do not endorse any vendor. We do suggest that you buy good American-made tools which are accurate and dependable to last your lifetime. It is recommended that these tools be insured under the parents' or student's homeowners' insurance.
- 6 piece punch and chisel set
- 12" adjustable wrench
- 3/8" square drive socket - 44 pc. set (SAE & metric)
- 1/2" square drive 3/8 - 1 1/4"
- 10" extension
- 3/8" torx set
- 5/16 - 1 1/4" combination wrenches
- Allen wrenches (SAE & metric)
- 10 pc. combination screwdriver set
- Ball peen hammer
- Needle nose pliers
- 5 lbs. 6013 or 7018 1/8" welding electrodes

Tool boxes are restricted to an overall length of 36" total, including handle.
Shop Uniforms: 3 Uniform shirts must be ordered from the Wellsville Campus Bookstore. You may visit the Campus Store website for pricing and/or to place your order. You may also call (607) 587-4020 to place your order. Uniform work pants are to be blue in color (example - Dickie brand) and five (5) pair are recommended (minimum requirement of three pair). These are not available at the Campus Bookstore but can be purchase at most retail stores (i.e., Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sears, JC Penney).
Students will be informed at the beginning of each semester as to what textbooks will be required for instruction during that semester.
The student will be responsible for the care and safeguarding of his/her and the College's tools and equipment.
