Computer Imaging and Architectural Engineering Technology - Facilities

The Department of Computer Imaging and Architectural Engineering Technology offers all students in the department use of extensive laboratory facilities that enhance each student's learning experience as it relates to his/her chosen program.

Architecture Studios - junior and senior baccalaureate-level students have access 24 hours per day to three studios. These rooms in the Engineering Technology building contain 16 advanced computer visualization workstations. Peripheral devices such as scanners, digital cameras, and large format color plotters are readily available. All students entering both architecture programs are required to purchase a laptop computer. The laptop will enable students to have access to architectural software via the wireless network on campus such as Autocad, 3D Studio Viz, and Adobe Photoshop.

Computer Art and Design / Digital Media and Animation Studios - students enrolled in Computer Art & Design or Digital Media and Animation enjoy 24 hours per day access to industry standard hardware and software within the digital studios. Thirty-four computer workstations serve as a technical and creative training ground for professional quality video and sound editing and processing, 2D and 3D animation, web design, interactive media, motion graphics, and other expanding forms of digital media. These digital studios are continually updated to provide students access to state of the art technologies. Seniors in Digital Media and Animation have the benefit of working in a studio designed for and dedicated to the successful completion of their senior project. In addition to the digital studios, traditional studio space provides the opportunity to explore and produce 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional works of mixed media. The Digital Media and Animation Gallery is located within steps from the studios and provides exhibition space for student work as well as exhibitions of work by established international artists.
