Equipment List

Before entering the laboratory to work, students must have tools that are used in this particular trade. These will be the personal tools of each student who is responsible for their care and safekeeping. It is recommended that the students have these tools insured under the parents' or the student's homeowners' insurance.

The required tools below should be of good quality and in good condition. Acceptable tools are sold under the trade names: Rigid, Plumb, Stanley, and Craftsman.

  • Metal tool box, 8 1/2" x 10" x 21" long, equipped with lock

  • Green pants (Dickie style) 2 pair recommended

  • Safety glasses (NOTE: Safety glasses must meet O.S.H.A. standards. Prescription glasses are okay if confirmed by a statement from your optometrist and they must also have side shields. Bring this statement at the start of school.)
  • 1 copper tubing cutter (to cut up to 1" copper)
  • 1 midget tubing cutter (to cut up to 3/4" copper preferred)
  • 1 vise grip 6" or larger
  • Pocket calculator (including square root function)
  • 1 roll plumber's sand cloth

Books

Throughout the school year, students will be required to purchase certain textbooks that are available at the campus bookstore at a total cost of approximately $600.
