Description:
The dynamics of the nation-state and their interrelationship. Attention will be given to the position of the United States as a world power, from its beginning in the early 1900’s throughout the 20th century and into the present. Topics will include U.S. foreign policies and relations with former and present Communist countries; problems faced by less developed countries, international organizations, and peace and security issues. An emphasis will be placed on current events and “hot” spots around the world.
