Admission requirements for Alfred State programs vary by major. Overall, admission to our programs is both selective and competitive (some programs more than others). In making admission decisions, there are a number of factors taken into consideration. These factors include:

  • strength of your academic program
  • high school average
  • course and exam grades
  • standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)*
  • supplemental application information
  • anything additional that you supply (letters of recommendation, resume, portfolio)**

*Standardized test scores are required for consideration for baccalaureate programs, some scholarships, and for intercollegiate sport participation.

**College/AP/IB coursework will also be considered
