Dr. Choichiro Yatani

Professor, Social and Behavioral Sciences Department

“A native of Japan and the father of two American-born children, I earned a PhD in social psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook and taught at SUNY at Stony Brook, St. Joseph College, and Ramapo College of New Jersey before coming to Alfred State College.

“While teaching, I conduct research in the areas of social perception, the psychology of peace, and technology and knowledge.

“I have presented my research papers at several national and international conferences.

"I presented my paper titled, “With Us or Against Us: American Images of the Enemy” on the theme of “Civilization at Risk: Seeds of Strife” at Oxford University, England, where 26 scholars were invited from all over the world to discuss the topic in March 2008. It was also published in Terrorism and Global Insecurity: A Multidisciplinary Perspective (Ch. 7, 137-148, 2009) by Alexander Klint (Ed.), Linton Atlantic Books, Ltd."
